Scrappy: La Campiña

This is a layout that I created for the Scrap Our Stash May Challenge to scrap outside your box. I distressed and inked which always makes me nervous. Also, I used a ton of layering, but kept my simple style at the same time. I also dug the punch out of the bottom of my scrap bag for this layout- I love punches and they way other people use them- but I really struggle to make it work for me.

This picture was taken while in Bolivia. We went to a fabulous restaurant called La Campiña which also had a Zoological park on site. They had tons of exotic birds and several alpaca. The garden here was amazing as well!

Other pictures from La Campiña...

My favorite-minus the chicken wire.

Serious Blog Neglect

School has started back, work has picked up again, and I'm trying to workout EVERYDAY without excuses. I'm exhausted when I get home and have my nose crammed in a book during most of my free time. All of my classes are heavy on the reading this semester, most of which I'm enjoying, but some is so very dry (ie: Tests and Measurements).

I've done little by way of creating, and I tried yesterday, but my mojo needs a jumpstart. I worked on a Valentine's Day present and I'm happy with it so I think I just need to sit down with my scrap stuff more often.

Here is layout about my goal (not resolution) for 2010. I want to run a 5k (or two) this year and I'm not allowing myself to have any excuses.

I already have another post lined up and need to take some pictures of some other projects. I'm back in the blogging saddle!

Scrappy: Wedding Album

I have kind of fallen of the blogging wagon since school started back.

Just a quick update- I've moved to Boone to eliminate my commute to school, I've started classes, and there is a lot of snow on the ground.

Last week I was really busy working on a wedding album for a friend and here are a few pictures of the album:

I'm hoping to work on a couple of projects tomorrow and Friday before the massive amount of reading starts!

Scrappy: Loving Myself

I received a gorgeous kit last week and after staring at for a couple of days I was ready to make the cut and create!

I used the envelope as hidden journaling with a journaling card on the back and a note to myself tucked inside.

School starts for me on Monday and I'm making a promise to myself to continue to create this semester.

Weekend in the Triangle

This weekend I spent some time in the Triangle area with Ryan and his parents. On Saturday we went golfing and met up with my best friend from High School, Allison. We all had a pretty miserable day of golf, but it was great fun! I got a little sunburnt. Shame on me!! Allison has an etsy store with some other people and her jewelry is beautiful!

This is a layout of Allison and me that I created using the Ltd. Edition kit from The Nook. I've been getting the kits since February and they keep getting better and better.

I'm really excited that I have made it to the second round of the ScrapStreet Star3 contest!! This week's challenge is to use a hole punch. I'm off to dig one out of a box somewhere!! Their online magazine is full of inspiration!!! Love it!

That is all for tonight! I'm pooped!

I created this layout using Danielle's Sketch at Right at Home. It was very challenging for me. I don't know how many times I have tried the paper strips look, but it never looks quite right. I can't tell you how long this layout took because I had to leave it overnight and come back to it. I really enjoy the finished product!

Here is the layout:

I used Cosmo Cricket papers, ribbon, chipboard, and rub ons and Prima pearls from the March kit over at the Nook. I also used a Maya Road sheer from the April kit. Love their kits!

Start Your Engines..

I spent ALL day yesterday at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was a blast! We sat in one of the suites above turn #4. It was a great view. They fed us wonderful food and we didn't have to wear ear plugs!!! I loved spending time with Ryan and going to my very first race!

When I got back from the race I made this card using the March Kit from The Nook:

I also made this card today:

I made this card and layout last week with the March kit last week, but failed to blog about them...

Speaking of The Nook and their FAB kits- I cannot wait to receive the April Kit! So far I have had two kits from The Nook and they are amazing and inspiring! You will not be disappointed! I splurged this month and also ordered this Limited Edition kit and several kit add ons!

My busy life...

I created this layout for the guest design challenge on My Scrapbook Nook. The challenge was to use at least five current pictures that document your daily life. I have been taking a lot of pictures of my everyday life (everyone knows I'm always snap happy) and I was very inspired by this challenge. I used papers and embellishments from a kit that I received for my birthday. I used an Autumn Leaves stamp that reads "happiness walks on busy feet". How true! The journaling reads: Between work...and school...and dance...and choir and Altar Guild...and choreographing Annie Get Your Gun...and spending time with family and friends...I'm finding it hard to give 100% in all areas- but I love my life!!!

I am thrilled with this layout and I think it is a great way to express how busy I am yet how much I love every single thing that I do. I really do have a fantastic life. I'm so blessed.

Scrappin'

I worked for most of the day on this FAMILY album. I'm really excited to take some pictures at Thanksgiving to put in the album.

I also worked on a few Christmas cards( I made about 15 cards tonight, but here are a few):

A WHOLE DAY OFF

I had the day off work, something that was much needed and appreciated.

I slept in. I cleaned my room. I made some cards. Helped in the garden. Watched some TV.

Here are the cards that I made today. I'm very proud of myself.

Scrappin' Sunday

I'm going to attempt to make a few Christmas cards this year and send them to some very special people. I'm starting to venture into card-making, so we will see how that turns out. I rather enjoy it, but I get frustrated when things aren't perfect.

I worked on my Europe book a little bit more and I'm only a few hours away from having a very nice scrapbook to remind me of the 12 glorious days I spent in France and Germany in June.

Scrappin' Sunday

Usually my Sundays only consist of church, Panthers football, and more football.

Since the Panthers had a bye weekend I decided to devote some time to my Europe scrapbook. I'm three-quarters of the way through with the scrapbook, so it should only take me a few weeks to finish this one and I can get to work on some other books. It's not my best scrappin', but I really enjoy looking back on those 12 days. I loved Germany. I can't wait to return someday!

I just fell down the stairs to the basement so I think I will call it a night and head to bed.
