Hotel Room Views

Maybe it is all of the snow or maybe a longing to travel again, but I've been reminiscing about my trip to Bolivia. These pictures stood out to me this week. It was wonderful having such amazing views from each of my hotel rooms.

I have most of my amazing Lily Bee filled kit from My Scrapbook Nook left as the fall semester did not allow for much creative time. I love having a chance to craft again during the week. Not having to commute 2 hours each day is awesome!

Happy Thursday!!!

Scrappy: Beach Babes

It's been a while since I have scrapped a childhood photo so I pulled out one that I have been wanting to scrap for a while now- a picture of my childhood friend and me posing on the beach in Pensacola.

I found that the July Kit from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Lily Bee's Hello Sunshine was just perfect for this picture. The colors were bright and sunshiny and the kit basically scrapped itself!

Scrappy: Sketchy Thursdays 5.27 Sketch

I'm so happy to be reunited with my scrappy supplies! This week I was in love with the Sketchy Thursdays Sketch. As soon as I developed my Bolivia pictures, I knew I had to scrap the pictures of the beautiful Lake Titicaca. I'm not sure I did the pictures justice, but here is my take on the sketch:

The journaling reads:
Even though I had altitude sickness and was exhausted, this was one of my favorite days in Bolivia. Simply Breathtaking.

The day that we vistied Lake Titicaca I was so tired due to the altitude and having an asthma attack, but it was such a gorgeous day, I had to do the best I could to enjoy this day.

Paulino Esteban- what an amazing man! So honored to have met him and see these amazing reed boats up close!

Delicious trout fresh from Lake Titicaca.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Memorial Day- remember those who have and continue to serve our country in times of wartime and in peace.

Scrappy: I am ENFJ

The current challenge for the All About Me Challenge Blog is "My Personality" and when Melissa issued this challenge I was more than excited to get to work! I was inspired by this month's featured sketch by Sketchabilities.

Supplies: Lily Bee paper and rub on, Kaiser Craft bling, Black Ink and Black BIC pen. Make your own lined paper here.

The journaling reads: I believe in my dreams and see myself as a helper. I am a global learner. I juggle a high number of responsibilities and project simultaneously. I neglect myself and my needs for the needs of others. I am ENFJ.

Scrappy: 1985

This week's challenge is up at the All About Me Challenge Blog- The Year You Were Born. I originally planned to do all of this fun facts about the year I was born, but then I found this picture of my grandfather holding me when I was a newborn and all of these thoughts flooded into my head.
I thought about how wonderful my family is- and I'm not just talking about my blood relatives. I am blessed to have the most amazing step-family in addition to my already awesome birth family. One of the best things about my family is that they support me no matter what. They have allowed me to make mistakes, supported me through all sorts of decisions, and constantly remind me that being me is all they will ever ask of me. So while this layout may be a little about family-it's also about me being free to be myself and I couldn't ask for a greater gift from my loved ones.

Bazill Cardstock, Lily Bee Design Paper, Kaiser Craft bling with Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink, Prima flower, and American Crafts ribbon.

I LOVE LILY BEE PAPERS!!! I am thrilled with my subscription to My Scrapbook Nook and their GORGEOUS monthly kits! May's main kit and their mini kit were BOTH full of Lily Bee.

There is a contest on the Lily Bee blog to create a mini album with their papers on the subject of "Just Be Me"

Here is my mini album:

Journaling reads: I learned a long time ago that in order to grow as a dancer, that I must stay true to myself.

Journaling reads: I love my family despite our ups and downs. My family has taught me that it is okay to be different and to seek my own happiness.

Weekly Challenge #3

The Weekly Challenge this past week was to complete a layout that expressed a deep emotion. It had to have journaling and could only have on picture. Here is my layout:

The journaling reads:
I'm at a crossroad of my life. Torn between fulfilling my dream of going back to school full time and remaining the ever-responsible Rachel. I'm excited about spending another summer on stage as a dancer, but will I have enough money to eat? What about health insurance and tuition? I feel like I'm making an irresponsible decision to return to school full-time. Last summer, I promised myself that I would take this leap. Why am I so afraid? I'm worried that I'm not making the right choice, yet I'm so happy that I will get to focus on my academics. I'm sure that I will grow through this experience, I just wish I weren't so uncertain. 5-23-09

I used the always beautiful Lily Bee papers featuring a die cut frame, American Crafts Thickers letters, Maya road flower, Jenni Bowlin mini bingo card, and textured cardstock that I have had for a very long time. The ribbon came with the May mini kit from The Nook.

There is a small spelling error on the layout. I guess I was journaling too late at night. I will try and fix it, but I'm not going to stress too much about it because mistakes happen. I really like this layout and it was very therapeutic to get those emotions down on paper.
