Life Update and Christmas Cards

In my last life update I said I was still waiting on two exam results. *Drumroll please* I passed the NCE- after graduation I get to add a bunch of letter after my name! I'm so excited!!!

Also, if you want to check out the engagement proofs they are on Pixels on Paper's proofing site. If you are in Charlotte or Western NC and need a photographer- check them out! They are fabulous!!!

I have been making cards for my grandmother like crazy- she requested 25 Christmas and 25 generic cards!! I've been using last year's Christmas lines and I've fallen in love with them all over again! I'm trying to keep the cards as flat as possible since they will be going through the mail all across the country.

Scrappy: Wedding Cards

This weekend I'm headed to see some friends commit their lives to one each another. I'm so excited for them and love seeing the love between them! That brings me to these cards. For the second final in Nook U we were challenged to make five cards (my weakness) and they each had a wedding theme applied to them:

Something Old

Something New

Something Borrowed

Something Blue

Wedding Themed

Anyone have tips for cardmaking? I really struggle with it and don't know why I find it so difficult!

Start Your Engines..

I spent ALL day yesterday at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was a blast! We sat in one of the suites above turn #4. It was a great view. They fed us wonderful food and we didn't have to wear ear plugs!!! I loved spending time with Ryan and going to my very first race!

When I got back from the race I made this card using the March Kit from The Nook:

I also made this card today:

I made this card and layout last week with the March kit last week, but failed to blog about them...

Speaking of The Nook and their FAB kits- I cannot wait to receive the April Kit! So far I have had two kits from The Nook and they are amazing and inspiring! You will not be disappointed! I splurged this month and also ordered this Limited Edition kit and several kit add ons!

Fun Frilled Goodness!

I received a VERY full box of goodies today from Fun-Frilled! I won the goodies for this card.

With the goodies that I received I created this birthday card:

I will add pictures of the rest of the goodies and credit the companies tomorrow. I'm pooped!

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan's Sketch #21

I created this card using Kazan's Sketch #21 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used Basic Grey papers and rub on, American Crafts letters, Making Memories flower, ribbon from Wal*Mart, and a button and twine from my stash.

I created this card with my mother in mind. I *think* I can save it for Mom's Day, but I may not be able to keep it that long, it may just be a just because card!

Today was a lazy snow day! I cleaned up a bit and organized my scrap stuff! I needed a day like today!

I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done today...maybe there will be another update later!

love

I made this card based on Card Sketch #84 from {Sketches} by Tamara.

I used Bazill cardstock, Basic Grey Bittersweet patterned paper and rub-on, Maya Road flowers and chipboard, bling from Michael's, and some ink that I can't track down right now. I made this as a quick card to give to my ever supportive boyfriend, Ryan. I inked the chipboard in a very pink ink, but felt it was too bright for the papers so i tried to give it a sort of distressed look with a brown ink. I also tried to outline the letters to give it some definition.

It has been a very busy hectic week. I haven't had nearly enough time to be creative lately!!!

I must find more me time...

many thanks

I made this card for my brother's Russian host mother in St. Petersburg. My mother wanted to send her a card thanking her for everything that she is doing for Caleb and I offered to make the card.

I used Basic Grey Bittersweet papers, Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories letters, Scenic Route chipboard house, and Maya Mist in brown. The ribbon was on sale at Wal-Mart and I had to pick it up because it was pink and would match the BG papers. I based this card off of Kazan's Sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You . I am also submitting this card for a new blog called Fun-Frilled. I think this card is both FUN and FRILLY.

Thanks for looking!

Sketches

Dreamgirls:Challenge #20: Use your stash
The challenge was to use paper from your stash that was at least 6 months old, the technique of tearing, and the title "I'm not". I used a sheet of Creative Memories Celebration paper that I  have had for a while. The title is "I'm not scared" when you can see on my face that I'm absolutely terrified. This is the first page of many for my Disney album.

I made this card with Karen Foster paper and stickers. I added a little sparkle and ribbon for fun. A thank you note for Ryan's parents for the fabulous birthday presents they gave me this past weekend. (Working on #12 on my 25 by 25 list)
I made this card based off of the Cupcake Craft Challenge 23
I like the colors and I used my first eyelet ever on this card!!! Yay!
I am hoping to make another card by the end of the night. Here's to #25 on my list- Be Creative Everyday!

2 Sketches 4 You- Laura's sketch 17

I need a vacation to recover from my vacation. I had an absolute BLAST in Orlando with YT and Koren. What wonderful company for a Disney adventure!

I'm trying to get back in the swing of things- which includes my new addiction- challenge blogs! Below is my take on this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You I once again used leftover papers from a BoBunny kit (the one I used to make my Birthday album). I am not really adept with stamping, but I love the love stamp. The inside of the card has a teal square that matches the ribbon on the front. Maybe I can wait until Valentines day to send this card...maybe...
Now it is time for a Disney update...

Friday I will reveal my 25 by 25 to-do list as a birthday present to myself! Yay Birthdays!!

Catching up

I made this Baby's First Christmas Album for a friend using the Bo Bunny word album and K & Company Peppermint Twist papers. I feel like it needs a little bit more bling, but I love the colors for a little girl's First Christmas album.

I created this album for my 24th Birthday celebrations. (January 16th!!!) It was a class kit from Bo Bunny for a Holiday Agenda that I knew I would never use. I loved the papers and since I am a winter baby I decided to use the kit for my (hopefully) awesome birthday that is coming up!

I am working on a 25 by 25 list of things I would like to do in the coming year. I did not make any New Year Resolutions because I thought that I would be able to keep the changes if I made it into a more detailed list. I plan on putting a list of those things I want to accomplish in my birthday album.

And last, but not least...the card I made for the caardvarks challenge blog. (These challenge blogs are somewhat addictive!) I used the leftover paper from the Bo Bunny Family Album I made for Thanksgiving. I'm not usually a fall lover, but I really love the colors of the Beautiful Life paper collection. I think this is a really sweet card, maybe I will send it to someone next fall...

I think that is all for tonight.

2 Sketches 4 You *Bonus Card*

I decided to attempt the Bonus Card on 2 Sketches 4 You today. It is very cutesy, colorful, and simple. I want to start making Valentines Day cards soon, so I made this lovey-dovey one to get me started. I used some paper and embellishments that my parentals bought me for Christmas. Thanks Mum!

I sense a long night of crafting is ahead of me tonight. <3 Friday night scrappin'.

2 Sketches 4 You

I have been a bit slack on updating my blog over the past week. Christmas was exceptionally wonderful this year, especially the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at church.

I have been crafting this week and will post pictures of my two new albums later this week.

I ran across 2 Sketches 4 You today and created this card from the current sketch. I'm not really sure how it works, but I had a blast with this quick card.

I used some scraps from my recent albums (to be featured on here sometime around Friday) and I really like how it turned out. The picture isn't the best quality, but I'm already running late for my New Year's Eve date.

So, here it is:

Have a safe and happy New Year!

A WHOLE DAY OFF

I had the day off work, something that was much needed and appreciated.

I slept in. I cleaned my room. I made some cards. Helped in the garden. Watched some TV.

Here are the cards that I made today. I'm very proud of myself.
