Strut Your Scrap

So I need everyone's help! There is a contest over at The Nook and I'm strutting my scrap in order to win. What I need you to do is hop over to this thread and let them know that you saw me strut my stuff on my blog! What's in it for you? A chance to win a FREE KIT from the Nook!

Here are all of the fabulous reasons you would love the Nook kits:

This layout was based off of a sketch by Becky Fleck that was a challenge during the Nook Scrapoff. I used the May kit featuring the gorgeous Lily Bee papers, Maya Road flowers, Basic Grey letters, and Maya Road chipboard bird and tree. I added from my stash the prima pearls and butterflies from Michael's $ bin. I love the way this layout turned out and it is a prime example of how awesome The Nook kits are. They include everything from buttons, to chipboard, to flowers, and they always have the best papers out there!

I find so much inspiration from the Nook Kits because everything goes so well together!

Can I tell you HOW EXCITED I was when I got the June Kit?!!? The Cosmo Cricket, TWO sets of Thickers, beautiful embellishments, etc, etc. Each kit is JAM PACKED with goodies, and the add-ons are great too!! I love this layout because it is simple, yet striking. The papers can really stand on their own, but the alphas and the chipboard bring a little bit of depth to the page.

Another thing I love about the Nook kits are that if you don't use all of something one month, you can continue to use it in future projects! The Maya Road pins, chip board shapes, and flowers are able to be used over and over again!

Thank you for stopping by and thanks in advance for helping me out!

Cosmo Card

It's been a while since I've done a 2 Sketches card, but I'm really excited about this one. Laura's sketch # 30 is really great and I was so inspired by it!

I used some of the fun Cosmo Cricket I had left from the Nook June kit and added the softest ribbon by Prima to match the dark teal teacup. I had a blast creating this card!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm going to do a giveaway for my 100th post! I'm almost there! So watch for a giveaway in about a week! I have lots of great things to send to someone!

July Mini Album

Alright-

I have been very slack recently. I blame it on the missing mojo, or working too much, or something completely random like the barometric pressure. I was so inspired by the July kit even before it even reached my hands. I ordered the Prima Canvas album as an add on and got some acrylic paint. I've painted each page with acrylic for the background and gone from there. The process is taking a lot longer than anticipated because I'm having to scrap in spurts. I don't have any solid chunks of time these days. I'm not complaining though, I love my job and this is honestly one of my favorite summers ever!

So here it is, my first COMPLETE page of my July Mini Album. I'm hoping to get some more accomplished so I can share the WHOLE thing before July is over!

The journaling isn't completed because it is going to be all mushy gushy lovey dovey!
If you look carefully, I'm wearing my Jewelry from Sweden in that picture!

Jewelry from Raleigh

A while back I shared with you that I recieved a gorgeous necklace from my friend Allison's etsy store. She is having a giveaway on her blog for one of her gorgeous button rings

My personal favorite is Muffy:

So head over to her blog and leave a comment for a chance to win your choice of a button ring!

Quick update!

Here is a layout that I completed using the June Kit from My Scrapbook Nook! The Cosmo Cricket is adorable and I love the bright colors and chipboard accents. I'm finding that for me, in order to use the Early Bird line, that it is best that I just keep things clean and simple.

The journaling reads:
Growing up in Pensacola, FL I loved hanging out at the beach. Now I prefer the cool summer breezes of the mountians. Sure, I'd like to have a vacation at the beach, but I don't like hot weather. I think I'll stay in the mountains!

I'm off to create some more!
